10 Tips to Care for Oily Skin

10. Wash your face

It is recommended to wash your face twice daily if you have a oily skin. Wash your face every morning and before going to the bed. Oily skin tends to attract dirt and other pollutants and you do not want these pollutants to clog your pores at night, so it is necessary to wash your face at night also. Some people with oily skin wash their face too often to get rid of the oil, but you must remember that if you wash your face frequently your skin will be stripped off the natural moisture. Do not use harsh soaps as they can have negative results on your skin. Choose liquid based makeup and never opt for an oil based one.

Toner is a necessity for people who have oily skin. After cleansing your face with a suitable cleanser one should always apply a toner. Toners can make your face dry so if you have specific oily areas on your face such as nose or cheeks just apply the toner on those areas if you do not want a dry patchy skin. Toner helps to lower the pH of the skin and remove any oil and dirt that cleanser could not.

Exfoliation is important to remove the dirt particles that clog your pores and also to remove the dead skin. But, people with oily skin should not consider exfoliating often.
