Oh! I lay in bed again. Eyes wide open and mind irrationally pondering on various bizarre issues. I am accustomed to such nights and they provoke an outburst of anger in me!
While waiting for light for hours.. When I finally fell asleep the sun cast its light wholeheartedly on me! This has many times been the start of the day for me.
The nights are believed to bring relief after a tiresome day ,but for me it is the other way round as they distraught me even more. So, here I bring you 10 ways to sleep easily and quickly.
10.) READ THE NEWSPAPER
The newspaper is a bag of trash which will make you yawn every second until you finally decide to sleep. This will turn out to be a task cultivating a good habit of reading. But if suddenly the curious child in you appeared and vividly searched for information in the paper you might end up reading it for hours.
9.)ANALYZE BOTH TODAY AND TOMORROW
During the course of the day you have committed blunders by over-reacting on certain situations while misunderstanding the others. The best thing to do at night is to ponder about the mundane details of the day and rectify them the next morning before it’s too late. You can also jot down a list of tasks you would want to perform the next day to make the day satisfactory and beautiful. This calms you down and propels the brain to stop thinking and further sleep!
8.) WHY CAN’T I STOP THINKING?
This is a question that seldom arises in our minds at the middle of the night when we are trying too hard to sleep but possibly can’t. It is as if your brain has to comprehend each and every subject there and then making it just impossible for you to sleep. You have to distract your mind from unnecessary thoughts or worries. This is usually the intervening factor in your sleep.
7.) EARLY BIRD VERSES A NIGHT OWL!
To an utterly lazy person like me, this might seem like the craziest idea ever. But Sleeping too long can leave you feeling moody and sluggish! Waking up early will make you accomplish more. Being an early riser will exhaust you during the day. This further enhances your ability to sleep. Compare this to the endless efforts you would have to make to sleep on regular nights.
6.) THE AMBIENCE IS WHAT MATTERS!
A dark room curtained to block all sparks of light, doors all closed and the cosy bed in front will attract you vividly and pull you to it. This is one simple way to help you sleep easily and quickly. It is a way that needs no special efforts but just a cosy layout of the room. And the ambience will sure shot make you feel relaxed and drift you to sleep.
5.) JUST IMAGINE!
Imagine yourself in a situation where you feel warm, comfortable and happy as in a paradise or in lush green parks or whatever that makes you feel that way. This will calm you down and command your brain to slow down its activities. This further enhances your effort to sleep and brings you to the most serene and peaceful part of the day – the night!
4.) EXHAUST YOURSELF
“You need to rest when you are tired” is the trick you can use to sleep easily and quickly at night. Heavy workout at a gym or tiresome day at work or laborious work by a worker will exhaust you to such an extent that you will be left with no option but to rest for a while. It makes you weary and yearning for sleep.
3.) SAY “NO” TO CAFFEINE!
Having a coffee to wake up early in the morning is a good idea but having it multiple times during the entire day will drive you addicted for its caffeine! Then you will want to have more and more. This caffeine is a stimulant which enhances your senses at night. It does not let the brain lower down its activities as a consequence you cannot sleep!
2.) HISRORY TEXTBOOK…. CAN YOU HELP?
The history textbook can offer a help here.
Oh! You don’t even have to read it. Merely peeking on the cover will do the task. It will open the gate to a series of yawns and watery eyes which pave the way to the much awaited peaceful sleep.
This way the history book might actually assist you in a vital task unlike the usual crap the historians have crammed it with.
1.) WHATSAPP … I NEED TO SWITCH YOU OFF!
After lying down for hours when I finally drifted to sleep, my phone vibrated and popped up a whatsapp text. As it had already broken my sleep I thought of just answering that one message, but then what followed is hard to believe. It started an array of texts which ended at 2am leaving me again at that state where I forcefully closed my eyes to sleep. So advisable to switch off whatsapp or lock your phone in the cupboard or elsewhere totally beyond your reach ,to head to a peaceful sleep!
