Office is a place where we spend a lot of time. It is like our second home our co workers and the boss is like our second family as we spent at least ten to twelve hours with them. Many a times, employers lose their star employees due to several reasons such as lack of recognition, less incentives, bad attitude and a lot more which thereby proves to be very disadvantageous for them and sometimes the organization may even undergo huge loss. new opportunity

Sometimes, some offers knock our career that we could not just refuse. When a new opportunity comes our way which is offering more benefits and more growth, we obviously grab it and this may be a reason for resigning from our current job. It may be possible that the opportunity that we get is either because we have been applying for various other higher jobs having higher pay and more growth or we can also get an opportunity based on pure luck. Many of us keep in touch with recruiters and have built a strong network, and whenever we get a job better from the present one, we accept it. There are also chances that we are planning to set up our own business and due to this we resign from our job so that we can pay full attention to our own work.


Business confrontation.

There exist personality conflicts in work place which may force us to resign. Some of us may be having a deteriorating relationship with our boss, which make us resign from our job, as we do not want to be fired and risk a bad reference on our career. Personality conflicts with co workers are somewhat the least common reason when it comes to resign but when we are continually dealing with someone we do not like and there is no way to agree to disagree, we are driven to quit. When the company is going through struggling period, it has been seen that it asks many of the employees to resign by offering them voluntary compensation, which thereby makes us to take the decision of quitting. Also, financial instability of the organization such as lack of sales, salary freezes, bad press, reduced work hours, mergers, employee turnover and many other reasons arouses in us lack of trust for the organization and a feeling of instability which bounds us to resign. So, when the company is struggling, then resigning while we can collect on whatever perks and benefits we are entitled to seem to be a better plan than waiting until the organization has nothing to give to us.



Getting less salary as per our qualification and our capabilities also make us resign from our job. Heavy layoffs when occurs in an organization, we are then forced to do more work with less salary. When we are not adequately rewarded with non monetary incentives, we think of switching our job and might just do it very soon. That is how, when we do not feel compensated for our work or when we pass over an anticipated salary bump, then we feel underpaid and that we do not have significant worth for the company, which thereby develops a feeling of resentment and can drive us to leave our job.

Everyone desires for an increment when they are working really hard and doing overtime. Basically, when we are giving all our mind and time to our job, we definitely would expect a promotion or a bonus. But when there is no scope of any growth or advancement in a job, we prefer leaving it. Growth is very important for one’s career, and if an organization cannot provide us with more opportunities, then we would not want to continue with such an organization. Also, when we reach the top position in our company, there is nowhere else to go professionally. Reaching top of the career ladder may often lead us to quit so that we can pursue new opportunities.


no appreciation

Appreciation for our work motivates us to do the work with more enthusiasm and interest. When we feel underappreciated in our job, we may consider quitting it. It is like giving all to our role, and there is no one who sees or values our work. Lack of appreciation and recognition from our boss or supervisor declines our motivation. Sometimes, someone else takes credits for our work and our boss fails to acknowledge the role we played in the project, which may make us feel devalued. Therefore, positive feedback gives us a sense of joy and accomplishment, and when we do not get rewards or appreciation for our hard work, we tend to resign from our job.

Work overload and overtime may increase job stress, and it is not possible for all of us to deal with it. Excessive work load also prevents us from giving adequate time to our family and the people who love us. Life events such as taking care of aging parents, making a career change, relocating, travelling around the world or starting a family often drive us to leave our job. This is basically listening to our inner calling or taking responsibilities of other people who are important in our life which makes us quit our job.
