10. David Beckham

David Robert Joseph Beckham (born 2 May 1975) is a retired English footballer. He has played for Manchester United, Preston North End, Real Madrid, Milan, Los Angeles Galaxy, Paris Saint-Germain, and the England national team for which he holds the appearance record for an outfield player. He was the first English player to win league titles in four countries, England, Spain, the United States and France. He announced his retirement at the end of the 2012-13 season and, on 18 May 2013, played the final game of his 20-year career. Beckham’s professional career began with Manchester United, where he made his first-team debut in 1992 aged 17. Renowned for his range of passing and free-kick ability, Beckham has twice been runner-up for FIFA World Player of the Year, and in 2004 he was named in the FIFA 100 list of the world’s greatest living players. Consistently ranked among the sport’s highest earners, in 2013 he was listed as the best paid player in the world, earning over $50 million in the previous 12 months.

 

9. Chris Brown

Christopher Maurice “Chris” Brown (born May 5, 1989) is an American recording artist, dancer, and actor. Born in Tappahannock, Virginia, he taught himself to sing and dance at a young age and was involved in his church choir and several local talent shows. Having signed with Jive Records in 2004, Brown released his self-titled debut studio album the following year. It peaked at number two on the US Billboard 200 and was later certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). In 2009, Brown received much media attention after pleading guilty to felony assault of singer and his then-girlfriend Rihanna; he was sentenced to five years of probation and six months of community service. Apart from his work in the music industry, Brown has pursued an acting career. In 2007, he made his on-screen feature film debut in Stomp the Yard, and appeared as a guest on the television series The O.C. .

Adele Laurie Blue Adkins (born 5 May 1988) is an English singer-songwriter. Adele was offered a recording contract from XL Recordings after a friend posted her demo on Myspace in 2006. The next year she received the Brit Awards “Critics’ Choice” award and won the BBC Sound of 2008. Her debut album, 19, was released in 2008 to commercial and critical success. Her career in the US was boosted by a Saturday Night Live appearance in late 2008. At the 51st Annual Grammy Awards, Adele received the awards for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. Adele released her second studio album, 21, in early 2011.The album was well received critically and surpassed the success of her début, earning the singer six Grammy Awards in 2012 including Album of the Year, equalling the record for most Grammy Awards won by a female artist in one night.  The success of 21 earned Adele numerous mentions in the Guinness World Records. She became the first living artist to achieve the feat of having two top-five hits in both the UK Official Singles Chart and the Official Albums Chart simultaneously since The Beatles in 1964. Adele is the first female in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 to have three singles in the top 10 at the same time as a lead artist, and the first female artist to have two albums in the top five of the Billboard 200 and two singles in the top five of the Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously.

Megan Denise Fox (born May 16, 1986) is an American actress and model. She began her acting career in 2001, with several minor television and film roles, and played a regular role on the Hope & Faith television sitcom. In 2004, she made her film debut with a role in the teen comedy Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. In 2007, she co-starred as Mikaela Banes, the love interest of Shia LaBeouf’s character, in the blockbuster action film Transformers, which became her breakout role. Fox reprised her role in the 2009 sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Robert Douglas Thomas Pattinson (born 13 May 1986), heartthrob of all teenage girls, is an English actor, model, musician and producer. Pattinson started his career by playing Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. He later landed the leading role of vampire Edward Cullen in the film adaptations of the Twilight novels by Stephenie Meyer, and came to worldwide fame, thus establishing himself among the highest paid and most bankable actors in Hollywood. In 2010, Pattinson was named one of TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in The World, and also in the same year Forbes ranked him as one of the most powerful celebrities in the world in the Forbes Celebrity 100. Pattinson plays and compose his own music and had sung songs for his films in the Twilight film series and How to Be. Madhuri Dixit (born 15 May 1967) is an Indian legend film actress who is known for her work in Hindi cinema. Often cited as one of the best actresses in Bollywood, she is also known for her incredible dance. Dixit made her film debut in Abodh (1984) and received wider public recognition with Tezaab (1988). She went on to establish herself as one of Hindi cinema’s leading actresses, acknowledged for several of her performances, her beauty, and her accomplished dancing. Dixit also judged two seasons of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa ‘. Dixit has won six Filmfare Awards, four for Best Actress, one for Best Supporting Actress and one special Filmfare award for completing 25 years in Bollywood. She holds the record for the highest number of Best Actress nominations (13) at Filmfare. In 2008, she was awarded the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award by the Government of India.

Andrew Barron “Andy” Murray  (born 15 May 1987) is a Scottish professional tennis player, ranked World No. 10 and who has been ranked as British No. 1 since 27 February 2006. He won Wimbledon Championships singles title in 2013, and is the 2012 Olympic tennis men’s singles champion. In 2013, Murray became the sixth man in tennis history to have won over $30 million in career prize money. At the 2012 US Open, Murray became the first British player since 1977, and the first British man since 1936, to win a Grand Slam singles tournament, when he defeated Novak Djokovic in five sets. This title makes him the only British male to become a Grand Slam singles champion during the Open Era. Four weeks after losing his first Wimbledon final to Roger Federer, Murray faced the Swiss again at the 2012 Olympic Games, defeating him in straight sets to win the gold medal in the men’s singles final, becoming the first British singles champion in over 100 years. He is the second man in the open era to achieve three runner-up finishes at the Australian Open, after Stefan Edberg lost his third final in 1993. In 2011, Murray became only the seventh player in the Open Era to reach the semifinals of all four Grand Slam tournaments in one year. In 2014, he became the tenth man to reach two or more semifinals at each of the four Grand Slams.

Dwayne Douglas Johnson (born May 2, 1972), also known by his ring name The Rock, is an American and Canadian actor and inactive professional wrestler known for his time in the WWF/WWE. Johnson was a college football player for the University of Miami, winning a national championship on the 1991 Miami Hurricanes football team. Originally billed as “Rocky Maivia”, he gained mainstream fame as “The Rock” in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) from 1996 to 2004, and was the first third-generation wrestler in the company’s history. He returned to wrestling part-time for WWE from 2011 to 2013. Johnson is widely considered one of the all-time greatest professional wrestlers. Johnson’s autobiography The Rock says… (Co-written with Joe Layden) was published in 2000. It debuted at #1 on The New York Times Best Seller list and remained on the list for several weeks Johnson’s first leading film role was in The Scorpion King in 2002. For this role, he was paid US$5.5 million, a world record for an actor in his first starring role. He has since appeared in several films, including Fast & Furious 6.

Enrique Miguel Iglesias Preysler (born May 8, 1975), simply known as Enrique Iglesias, is a Spanish singer-songwriter, actor, and record producer. Iglesias started his career in the mid-1990s on an American Spanish Language record label Fonovisa which helped turn him into one of the biggest stars in Latin America and the Hispanic Market in the United States becoming the biggest seller of Spanish-language albums of that decade. By the turn of the millennium he made a successful crossover into the mainstream market and signed a multi-album deal with Universal Music Group for an unprecedented US $68,000,000 with Universal Music Latino to release his Spanish albums and Interscope to release English albums. In 2001, he released his single Hero, which he later performed to commemorate the victims of the 9/11 attacks. Iglesias has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best selling Spanish language artists of all time. Altogether, Iglesias has amassed more than 70 number-one rankings on the various Billboard charts.
